How to Find Talent on LinkedIn

Gone are the days when business executives debate whether social media is the flavor of the month at the buzzword ice cream shop. Social media has become one of the most invaluable resources for staffing and recruiting companies. And, its popularity continues to gain momentum.

Today, the vast majority of business professionals and job seekers are using LinkedIn as their resume to proactively learn about new opportunities that can advance their careers. Staffing companies and recruiters are reaching out to these highly desirable candidates via LinkedIn. Done right, engagement is fairly high. Done incorrectly, recruiters, human resources departments, and placement agencies are missing out on the chance to find the best talent before their competitors do.

With the battle to discover and nurture talent heating up, and the stakes becoming higher, this infographic provides insights on How to Find Talent on LinkedIn.

There are so many mistakes in this. 92% of companies do NOT use social media to recruit. Only 13% of LinkedIn users use it daily – made up of recruiters, sales, marketers & entrepreneurs. Zero point sharing updates on a company page unless you pay to get them promoted as LinkedIn has changed the settings so that personal, company and even LinkedIn blog posts get near zero visibility. Thanks for your comments. In October 2013, Adweek published that 92% of companies use social media for recruitment. Also, multiple sources cite that 40% of LinkedIn users check LinkedIn daily and 13% use it daily. The difference between the words “check” and “use” LinkedIn is often debated.

Adweek clearly misquoted their source. It’s wrong. 92% or recruiters maybe, definitely not companies.

I think it’s very interesting to create an infographic that will only be addressed at 8% of companies as everyone else seems to be using LinkedIn already 🙂
